Teens going green, Help please.?

Posted by admin on Jun 19, 2009

Okay My Friends and i live in a small town. Very small. Not much goes on but we would like to do community service for going green. Does anyone have any ideas or starter websites that would help us out?

yes you can easily start a community recycling bin, inform people about the dangers of going green, Personally I think getting people to get rid of plastic bottles in exchange for aluminum bottles would be a great idea or getting people to switch from paper/plastic bags to reusable grocery bags. check out my source for more ideas. The website is still under construction but the pages that are up now have good info!

Playstation LittleBigPlanet - PS3 (98199)

Developed by Media Molecule, LittleBigPlanet is a PS3 computer entertainment system community-based game with a hugely innovative concept behind it. Players meet on a blue and green planet scattered with individual plots - and use their character’s amazing abilities to play, create and share what they build with other gamers throughout the world via PLAYSTATION Network. The LittleBigPlanet experience starts with players learning about their character’s powers to interact physically with the environment. There are places to explore, creative resources to collect and puzzles to solve - all requiring a combination of brains and collaborative teamwork. As soon as players begin their creative skills will grow and they will soon be ready to start creating and modifying their surroundings - the first step to sharing them with the whole community. Characters have the power to move anything in this glued and stitched-together 3D landscape; they have the power to design, shape and build both objects and entire locations for others to view and play. There’s no complicated level editor; all of these skills can be learned by simply playing the game. Creativity is part of the gameplay experience and playing is part of the creative experience. Players can make their world as open or as secretive to explore as they like. When it’s ready, they can invite anyone within the LittleBigPlanet community to come and explore their patch - or can go and explore everybody else’s.Click here for more information regarding the ESRB Rating

What's the difference between Attorney or Community Organization?

Posted by admin on Jun 12, 2009

Which one is better to go to when getting help with fixing papers? Will the time vary with each one or it's the same time. For example, will I get a faster the Green card faster if I go with an Attorney tha an Oranizacion Community (usally free or low cost)? Thank You for any advice!

If you are looking for something free or low cost, then you can go to one of the organization. But if your case is a little more complicated than the usual (if it includes deportation warrants, illegal overstay, felony), an immigration lawyer is better but since immigration law is one of the most difficult branches of law, it will cost you money. Do not go to an organization if your case is complicated. As for going faster, I am not really sure. One thing I do know, filling the papers with someone who's inexperienced can cause a great delay, but with a lawyer who knows what he's doing, then you do have a great shot of having everything file properly.

To be frank, immigration itself is more likely to recommend a lawyer.

Viva Pi ata for Microsoft Xbox 360

Viva Pi ata for Microsoft Xbox 360

The world encompassing the pi ata community is slowly dying, and to keep these creatures from going extinct, players must create a world where the pi ata can thrive. Viva Pi ata offers a place for gamers to create a lush green environment where all kinds of pi atas can live and prosper. Players have complete creative control over the neighborhoods they create, and can add grass, flowers, trees, fences, ponds, and other objects that will lure in the pi atas. Each type of pi ata has different needs, such as a worm pi ata’s need for good earth to burrow in, and a rabbit pi ata’s need for long grass and carrots. Pi atas can come in the form of customizable horses, sheep, raccoons, worms, crocodiles, or wolves, and just like in nature, some of them will not get along. Players can build fences to keep rival pi atas away from one another, and also to keep predator pi atas away from prey. Wild pi atas are red with black stripes and can cause general disorder in a garden. They are filled with bad candy that is poisonous to other pi atas, but they can be handled by asking helpers to beat them with a stick, taming them, or sending them off to pollute another player’s garden. Connecting to the Xbox Live online community opens up opportunities for item trading, player competitions, and obtaining rare objects and game currency through the Xbox Live Marketplace. ~ Gracie Leach, All Game Guide Universal

What are other ways to "go green" instead of recycling?

Posted by admin on Jun 5, 2009

I just got an idea for an event where i work and i'm thinking since being green is "all the rage" not to mention you're doing good for the community and the environment. i wanna build on this idea..what are sum suggestions besides the obvious, recycling, to go green?

Going green is easy, there are so many great resources about the subject. My personal favorite is "The Green Book" which has parts of its book online as well at www.readthegreenbook.com.

As I have been striving to "Go Green" I realize it is like stepping back in time without getting rid of my modern conveniences. I'm doing many things I learned as a child, like line drying my clothes, sweeping instead of vacuuming, opening the windows in the morning to catch the cool breeze, only buying what I need instead of everything that looks cool, growing some of my own food, and canning what I can't eat now.

To me "going Green" is a frame of mind. Do what fits your lifestyle and do the easy things first, it is a process and like dieting if you go to radical to soon, you are more likely to go back to bad habits. I also believe there are good, better, best choices in most things. If you aren't ready to start a home garden, then try finding a farmers market, until you locate one look for produce grown as close to home as possible and go organic when available.

Many people think "going green" is expensive, I disagree. Some changes may take an initial investment, but they usually have a short payoff time. Things like weatherstiping and insulation cost, but the energy savings will add up quickly. You may need to purchase reusable bags, but most stores give you a 5 or 10 cent credit, so you are paid back within a few months.

Reduce your packaging, if you eat more fresh food you will generally reduce packaging, it's the same thing they tell dieters, shop the perimiter, that is where all the meat, dairy and produce are located. Only buy what you will use, many Americans throw away a lot of unused food. Buy in bulk, that doesn't just mean large packages, but that area with the bins that you buy only what you plan on using.

Replace disposable items with durable items, if you eat outside often and use disposable paper or plastic plates, it is a wise investment to purchase a set of reusable plastic plates. Replace disposable razors, diapers and cleaning products like swiffer. Avoid bottled water, get a home filter like Pur or Brita.

Recycle, www.earth911.org will help you locate the nearest recycle center. I try to only purchase plastics that are #1 or #2, they are more easily recycled. I also buy recycled products when available, that includes paper towels, napkings, toilet paper, tissue, school/office supplies and clothing.

Detox your cleaning, vinegar and baking soda clean almost anything, they can even losen a hair clog. Seventh Generation and Method are a couple mainstream brands that are very earth friendly.

Just start small and build from there, don't get overwhelmed.

~~What can we do to make the community i live in 'Go Green' ?~~?

Posted by admin on May 29, 2009

I know by picking up trash and use resuable bags but i want to know is there any cool ways to make a home / Community Go Green in a simple method?

One simple but effective way to go green is to Conserve Water.
Presently many parts of the world are facing fresh water shortages, especially Southern California. Water Conservation will not only help these areas face the challenge of water shortage but also keep other places from facing a similar situation.
Small things like turn off the tap when not in use, take shorter showers, avoid car washes etc can save gallons of water per day and make a big difference to the planet. Here are some water saving tips: http://www.bewaterwise.com/tips01.html
Spread the word within your community and encourage evryone to save water at home, schools, office, parks etc. Together you can make a big difference.

Green Chair at Barnes and Noble

Green Chair at Barnes and Noble

Erotic Drama DVD - Veteran South Korean director Park Chul-soo (301/302) wrote and directed the erotic drama Green Chair. Seoh Jung (The Isle) stars as Kim Moon-hee, an older woman who has just been released from police custody for deflowering an underage young man, Hyun (newcomer Shim Ji-ho). (In South Korea, the age of sexual consent is 20, and Hyun is only 19.) Upon her release, Moon-hee is surprised when Hyun shows up and spirits her away from eager reporters. Dodging a prying reporter and staying out of sight, Moon-hee and Hyun go to a motel, where they continue their torrid affair. Moon-hee thinks Hyun is only interested in sex, so she breaks up with him, and goes to stay with her friend, Jean (Oh Yun-hong). She’s heartbroken that Hyun didn’t try to get her to stay, but she soon learns that he has followed her. The couple stays with Jean, who seems to share Moon-hee’s attraction to the handsome young man. Moon-hee fulfills her community service (part of her sentence) by caring for senior citizens in a rest home. The two struggle through their challenging relationship, dealing with Hyun’s immaturity and Moon-hee’s insecurity. With Hyun’s 20th birthday approaching, they plan a big dinner party, inviting everyone who’s had a recent impact on their lives. Green Chair was shown at the 2005 edition of the New York Asian Film Festival, presented by Subway Cinema. - Green Chair at Barnes and Noble
