Where could a person find funding for a green energy invention ?

Posted by admin on May 29, 2010

Someone I know is looking for funding to build a green energy invention. Can’t give details because inventions have to be protected, but if anyone knows of a real source of funding for this kind of thing your help would be nice. It has to be available to the average person though, not scientists and so on.
Also this invetion so far has no working models, but it does not use any kind of fuel and produces no pollution. It is a power unit that will be used to turn a generator to produce electric.

Great there are invention sites on the net who can supply funding advise .Do not use those asking for specifics of the idea. Also Speak to you state Representatives. Any Politician would love to get his picture in the paper, news with something of this nature.A great one could lead to his reelection

If there were a massive "green jobs" program, wouldn’t most of the jobs go to red states?

Posted by admin on May 29, 2010

Alcohol production, wind power, solar power and vegetable oil—don’t they all come from red states? The only blue state activity might be aluminum can recycling. So why all the talk about urban "green job communities"?

No. Obama spends our money on his supporters…like the United Auto Workers. The ‘green jobs’ will go wherever there are Democrats.

What job fits me best in todays world?

Posted by admin on May 11, 2010

Hello,

Im in my second year of college and i still cannot determine what job suits me so im throwing this out to all of you for ideas.

My interests are: Rising and modern technologies, Earth Science and global warming, CURRENT EVENTS w/ govt. and mostly the current and happening events in the world.

I notice people my age don’t care about the gas crisis and the rising tides from Global warming… idk why i do but i feel it puts me in a better position being that way.

So really, i enjoy current events and the study of Earth and how to go green, new tech. and cutting govt. inventions.

I suck at math, HARD! but im good at history and my personal/comm. skills are unmatched at my age. I carry about a 2.5gpa at the moment

Any suggestions?

Perhaps Environmental Law?

How are environmentalists and green energy plans NOT like Communists and five-year plans?

Posted by admin on May 11, 2010

I’m trying to argue that this author (who uses this analogy) is using fallacious reasoning. What are some obvious differences?

The author’s writes the following:
"Just as 20th-century socialists savaged capitalism for all the world’s ills and offered worthless “five-year plans” as a replacement, so today’s environmentalists savage industrial energy and offer us “green energy plans” that they assure us will work–once we give them the power to forbid everything else that has already been proven to work."

Any ideas on disproving this?

First, any such assertion is pretty silly. Our government doesn’t tell us where to live, what we must grow on our farm, and send us to the Gulag if we disagree with them. However:

- We don’t have plans — more like objectives.
- We don’t force actions (generally) we reward success.
- I haven’t seen anyone "assure us" that any plan will work.

Quite clearly, dumping old oil into the creek out back does get rid of it. For us. If it’s a problem for someone down stream, why should we care?

That kind of attitude is quite appropriate for the government to ban. It’s also appropriate to regulate air quality. Look up into your sky, and compare it with this:

Does Green Tea have Caffeine?

Posted by admin on May 11, 2010

I bought one of the big plastic gallons of Community Green Tea. Sometimes I get the diet Arizona green tea. This is the first time I have bought it while I was pregnant. (I know it is ok to have a little caffeine while pregnant). I can’t find anywhere on the container that says whether or not there is caffeine and I am just wanting to know before I decide how much I am going to let myself drink.

It has a little less caffeine than regular tea and way less than coffee.

My friend & myself HELP pLEASE?

Posted by admin on May 3, 2010

I have been friends with this women and her child for about a year. We are both women and are married. I have been there everyday. hER HUSBAND is going to mexico soon to get his green card. Yesterday I had to take care of this other friend because she was sick. i told my friend. She doesn’t have a car so she borrowed one from her husband brother. To make a long story short . She told me she had no other friends but then last night she went to this friends to do work on the comm putter. She knows i would of helped then today she probably will put me off WHAT CAN i SAY TO HER THIS IS WRONG. WHEN I HAVE BEEN THERE EVERYDAY

You think it’s wrong for her to have other friends? Seems you expect people to need you for everything to feel complete? Have you thought that maybe you are there a little too much? How could anyone need you everyday? You take on too much responsibility which is not even yours to handle.Your friend did nothing wrong. She does not need you for everything. You just have to realize that.

What are some advantages that nuclear power has over green energy?

Posted by admin on May 3, 2010

Its for a debate in school and I didn’t even want to do this topic. I was for green energy but the teacher is dumb. I’d like all the help I can get. Thanks ^_^

1. It’s reliable, working 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
2. It doesn’t waste a bunch of land.
3. It can be located pretty much anywhere (instead of where it’s windiest, sunniest, or whatever).
4. The cooling towers look cool.

I’m currenlty giving up one Sunday a month to pull shopping trolleys and old tyres out of my local river. You could try volunteering for something like that. It would tick all the environmental boxes
